Maybe a bird, a gum wrapper, or a lost set of keys popped into your field of view at exactly the right moment, like a response to your thoughts. Or maybe you haven't experienced that, but would like to!
The universe is always in communication with us. No sign is too small and no media is un-sacred. That means of course, that the universe can send you signs through even trash in your urban environment.
On this walk, you’ll learn how to do Trash Divination for yourself. There’s a subtle art to it that anyone can learn.
Trash Divination grew out of my nature divination practice, which involves finding meaning in plants, animals, clouds, and water. In the city, there's almost as much trash as there are plants and animals, so trash naturally became part of the message. If you’ve been following me on Instagram for a while, you’ve seen me post the occasional bit of ~meaningful trash~ I find as I’m walking around Brooklyn. There's the potential for magic everywhere, and I want you to see it, too!
You’ll learn how to clear your energy, form a question, and receive an answer through signs in your environment — aka trash!
And then, we'll pick up the trash we find, as a gesture of gratitude to the environment.
I will provide gloves and bags for trash we pick up, as well as hand sanitizer!
Please bring a notebook if you want to jot things down.
